Charleston Orientation!
So we have survived the last week preparing for our journey across the country! Our Leadership Orientation was a great time especially with the $225 worth of Gift Cards from California Dreaming. May I recommend The Onion Loaf for everyone to enjoy if you go there!
We prepared by learning to drive our 15 passenger van, stops for all the needs of our van/trailer, went over Bike & Build policies and learn helpful information for doing our job at the best of our ability.
On Tuesday, the riders finally arrived and we began to have our fun with the whole group of 32. We had Icebreakers, gave them a basic orientation of what to expect for the summer and a Shakedown Ride over the Ravenel Bridge. We all learned was wrong with our bikes and learned how difficult it can be to follow a bike route through a city.
Our Build today with the Charleston Habitat for Humanity was an absolute blast! We did some Demolition that rocked our world. The staff were really great to us and made sure that we were useful through out the day.
Tomorrow we are off to Moncks Corner after we tip our tires into the Charleston Harbor. It will a short trip and great for helping us with getting used to life on the road. Charleston has treated us well but it is time to say Good Bye!

Even More Fundraising Success: $5000?
Thanks to even more support from friends, the $5000 mark may be surpassed by the time I arrive into Charleston SC to start my ride. Thank you to everyone who has donated over the past month and half!
Great Training Ride
So I biked up from BOULDER to ESTES PARK (Home of Rocky Mountain National Park) and my body felt great afterwards. I gave myself the correct amount of hydration and food for the 65 mile battle. We went up from BOULDER to LYONS which consisted of 30 nice miles of flat with some hilly section. The first 27 Miles from LYONS were all up until the 8 Mile Descent into the Valley of Estes Park.
It was a great time and I feel ready for what I have ahead of me this summer!
